Survival horror “The Evil Within” was released on Tuesday on PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. A new nightmare developed by Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil saga that should please thrill-seekers. On this occasion, the 20-minute editorial team mobilized its users to rank the most frightening video games of all time. Here is the result:

  • Resident Evil (2002)

The remake of the very first Resident Evil tells the story of a military team tasked with finding survivors of a helicopter crash. The nightmare begins the team finds itself entrenched in an old mansion.

  • F. E. A. R. (2005)

In First Encounter Assult Recon, a.k.a F.E.A.R., The player, plays a member of a special unit sent to an abandoned building to find a man who can control clones. A horrific FPS that seduced netizens by 20 Minutes. “No doubt, F. E. A. R. is one of the scariest games I’ve ever played,” a gamer describes.

  • Silent Hill 2 (2001)

This survival horror published by Konami proposes you to play James, a broken man who receives a letter from his late wife asking him to go to a strange city. “Silent Hill 2 is a game with a weighty atmosphere. I was under a lot of stress when I played there,” remembers Clement.

  • Dead Space (2008)

Dead Space proposes you to board a spaceship whose crew has been infected with a virus capable of turning the dead into monsters. Eric describes Dead Space as an “unhealthy” game where the “horror sensation is permanent”.

  • Phantasmagoria (1995)

This point-and-click published by the Sierra teams tells The Story of a young couple who have just moved into a mansion. Of course, you will quickly learn that this was the scene of tragic events and that a curse still hangs on the scene.

“Gamer for over 25 years, there is no doubt that Phantasmagoria is the most horrific game I have played. This title has marked me forever,” said Gregory.  “This game is a true interactive movie, with real actors. The scenes are worthy of the worst horror films, ” says Louis.
